A Happy Scuba New Year from the Chaloklum Diving Team.
Hoping that all our scuba diving (& otherwise) friends had a Merry Christmas, & wishing all a Happy New Year from the Chaloklum Diving School massive. We have had a thoroughly festive time, this year without our usual Christmas day scuba dives due to a couple of days unpleasant weather! However we’re back in action again, with diving trips to Sail Rock today & tomorrow, plus a Koh Tao special in the pipeline (time for some snorkelling too). And still the nice weather continues when it should be horrible. It’s a crazy situation when there are so few tourists here that we can only offer boat diving trips to Sail Rock, fabulous as it is. Dive sites like the Marine Park, Southwest Pinnacles & Koh Tao are just not possible because of a scarcity of scuba divers! But we’re not suffering too much; to make up for it we have been doing more scuba dives at a few of our favourite local dive sites, as we sometimes forget what Koh Phangan diving has to offer. The diving has been particularly nice around Koh Phangan; Koh Ma has been beautiful on a morning & there’s a photo or 2 on facebook from our last team diving venture to the excellent Rock Point. We’ve also made a dive trip to Angthong Marine Park & returned with a boatload of happy scuba divers & snorkellers. Great vis, mild conditions & fine marine life mean we’re planning to go again on Saturday (28th).
