August has been a busy scuba diving month on Koh Phangan so far, with Sail Rock getting a lot of attention due to its new residents. Please let’s not forget that there’s a whole lot more to the Rock than just bull sharks! And there are other fine dive (& better snorkelling) destinations available in the Gulf of Thailand; we are trying to promote diving trips to Koh Tao dive sites & the lovely Ang Thong Marine Park, so that we are not targeting Sail Rock every day!
All’s good at the diving school, but we’ve been a little short on staff & it’s been great to see Michael himself diving & teaching a few Padi diving courses! We’ve got some nice photos of him doing an Open Water Diver course with Mr Rune from Denmark; they should be up on facebook soon! Even Nick has had the delight of conducting a couple of Discover Scuba Diving sessions (& remembering what great fun they are). We’re looking forward to the return of DM Kim at the end of the month, plus our perennial supporters Angie & Heinz in early September. Here’s hoping that the bull sharks wait for you Heinz!!
Please check out our u/w photos in the Marine Life Guide & give us some feedback. We’re sometimes working (but not much at the moment!) on filling out the text & uploading more & better photos (although one suspects that it will not be finished so soon!); your observations are most welcome.
The Very Best of Wishes from Chaloklum Diving.
