August has started & the Diving’s good!

Dive trip to Sail Rock, 2012Apologies for the delayed Koh Phangan diving update, Chaloklum style, but we’ve been working/diving quite hard for a (welcome) change! A bunch of Padi Open Water Diver courses, a busy diving boat & an island that’s close to full (what with the full moon party & all) has kept us thoroughly entertained. Thankfully Sail Rock has had consistently good conditions, regular bull shark sightings plus the odd whaleshark; Michael & his lucky student started their first dive yesterday with one.

Most of our dive sites should offer good diving conditions with the current fine weather; our next planned diving trips will be to Sail Rock tomorrow & Marine Park (for the snorkelling too) the next day (Tues, 7th), with a three pinnacle trip in the pipeline…

All’s well with the diving school team, except for unfortunate Mr. Gabriele, who’s recovering from a nasty bout with the “Phangan flu. We’re looking forward to visits from a few of our regular scuba divers over the next month or so; including our nudibranch guru, the great Lorenzo, super-DM Mr Kim, plus Heinz & Angie, our favourite supporters! & Congrats to Divemaster Dave & good luck from all of us with the job in Malaysia.

Please check out our u/w photos in the Marine Life Guide & give us some feedback. We’re sometimes working on filling out the text & uploading more & better photos (although I suspect it will not be finished so soon!); your observations are most welcome.

The Best of Wishes from Chaloklum Diving.
